A Deeper Look Into Our Data Storage Service

Here’s a bit of what’s going on behind the scenes at the Mid-West Data Depot.  

UPS systems prevent power spikes, surges, and brownouts, while redundant backup diesel generators provide additional fuel to keep the data center powered up indefinitely in the event that a public utility fails. The entire electrical system has built-in redundancy to guarantee continuous operation. 

Liebert industrial units provide the environmental controls necessary to maintain a computer room environment. The humidity and temperature levels remain constant at all times, and the heated air from the back of the cabinet is exhausted to the HVAC system. 

Using a combination of intelligent spot-type smoke detectors and a High-Sensitivity Air Sampling system, we receive the earliest possible notification of a potential fire. Precision alarm and control functions immediately alert appropriate staff and initiate emergency actions. FM 200 is released to extinguish fires and dissipate. This eliminates the need for cleanup and the potential for damage to equipment.
